WALK YOUR PROPERTY

Initially, a Michigan Forestry Co. forester will meet you at your property in order to assess the make-up of your word lot. The forester will walk through your land providing insights as you move. Their goal is to gather information about your goals, the quality of the timber, and number of merchantable trees.  During this time, the forester will identify landowner's goals for their lots and assess current site conditions. 

Suggested action

Following an assessment of the forest, the forester will recommend action steps the landowner can take to move towards his or her goals. Resources may be provided by the forester for further information.

If the landowner decides to move forward with the recommended actions of the forester, at that time the landowner would hire the consulting forester to carry out the suggested steps. Typically, foresters are paid by receiving a percentage of the timber sale or a flat fee for services provided as a consultant.
